They no longer offer a lunch buffet.
Got a delicious veggie curry from here, would've liked it just a little bit more spicey but very good flavor !
Foods are tasty and similar to traditional Indian.Good atmosphere.
Went for the Sunday buffet and it was pretty good. There was also live music
Their food used to be good, however in the past year or so it's become very inconsistent with spice level and flavor. I can't justify ordering from here anymore
Good place. We went for lunch. They have good selection. Fast service and great taste.
Give 5 star is doesn’t mean it’s food safety but it’s very important,
Delicious Indian food, spiced just right for my taste. A family operation with a varied menu and friendly service. The owner, Victor, is in the kitchen and often comes out to greet the patrons. The buffet alone is worth the visit at lunchtime. Vegetable korma is our favorite dish, and it is featured as one of the items on the buffet. Nice selection of Indian breads as well. I do not understand the negative reviews. This is a wonderful place with excellent food.
A friend recommended this place when we said we were looking for some good Indian food. Very happy that we listened. The place is somewhat hidden and you could easily drive bye, but if you stop in for a bite to eat, you won't be sorry. Very pleased with the food, the service and the cleanliness of the restraunt. I had the buffet and ate until I couldn't eat no more. Good job folks and I will be back soon!
The place was a good choice
The lady in the reception was very rude to us as we wanted to seat in a table other than their suggested one. The servers are not well behaved as well. We went there for the 50% off after 9pm offer but the offer doesn’t mention it’s applicable only on very limited items - which is deceptive. They also asked us to leave in a very unpleasant way when it was closing time. That really surprised us. They behave well with white customers only, not with Indians. Their food is not bad. I would have rated them a 4 star if they hadn’t behaved rude with us.
Food is tasty but the management can be quite rude. It is a little expensive for Indian food but not bad for its quality.IMPORTANT: Half Price meals from 5-6pm and 9pm to 10pm. ^there is a small sign outside advertising this but the servers will not tell you about the promotion or automatically include it in your bill.
Excellent food. Nice staff. A family restaurant. Good prices.
Takeout: food was good but the portion of meat was very small. I’ve eaten inside and they give good portions. You take out and they skimp on the meat. Not sure if I’ll go back or not..
Good tasting food. Quick service.
Went for the lunch buffet. There were 12 hot items covering the basics- chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, aloo gobi, matar paneer, palak paneer, rice, naan, a couple others I forgot, and gulab jamun for dessert. Everything was alright - not bad, not awesome. Standard buffet fare. Cost was $13/person.
The food is so good!
I am an Indian visiting Pittsburgh. We ordered food and asked for food with zero spice...and yet they added black pepper. The street food in Delhi tastes better. Very disappointing food; the peas were undercooked. It actually doesn't deserve any stars.!!
Yummm food ..liked it😋 paneer tikka, chicken tikka masala and naan are excellent👌.. reasonable price and good quantity..worth visiting
Picture is of their lunch special. Delicious!
One of my favorite spots for Indian. I'm just upset they're not open for indoor dining and I sure miss the buffet
Top notch. Used to come when we lived in edgewood. Now we moved a hour away but always grab some on my way home from work when i can.Good portions and save some money by ordering directly instead of through a service.
Visited here buffet .. really disappointed ...seems like not keeping fresh food ...services is also realy poor...
My wife and I have had Indian food all over Pittsburgh and this is the restaurant we always come back to. The food is great, service is prompt and friendly, and they do pick up AND local delivery. Menu-wise it's about what you expect, not too many regional specialties or things you can't order elsewhere. Try to go during peak times when the head chef(owner?) is in the kitchen, the food absolutely gets an upgrade when he's personally involved. Food's still great any other time, but there is a difference for sure.
Really delicious! We enjoyed samosa chaat, chicken biryani, and paneer butter masala. All excellent!
This place is consistently pretty good, and the service is always fairly efficient. Its definitely not the best indian food in Pittsburgh, but its definitely up there! The decor is a bit weird since its in the same place that Kazansky's used to be–theres a football mural from that era still on the wall–but its not bad. Always pretty empty. My one large(ish) issue is that I asked for very spicy food and my dish came out gently spiced but definitely nowhere near something I'd call 'spicy.' Still though, consistently a good choice.
Good indian food in squirrel hill
I'm pretty much obsessed with this place. Some Indian places a serve food that has too much liquid. However, the consistency of the dishes served by coriander are perfect. Additionally, I'm not a big fan of spice that is found in Indian food, but this place knows how to make something mild and tasty at the same time. The non-carnivore options are excellent. Everything is filling and the waitresses are really sweet.
Very Good experience .Mouth watering food .It is so good that we are visiting again and again . Atmosphere is also good. The quantity and quality of the food is excellent spicy Indian tadka flavour..yummm..
Really really good food. Ordered take out and enjoyed it very much.
I've only eaten Indian food once before, but my friends love this place and wanted to eat here. I was amazed with the prompt service, drink refills, and amazing food quality. I don't normally enjoy spicy food but they made mine very mild and their Tikka Masala was phenomenal. Will absolutely be eating here again!
I had come in for the lunch buffet on Sunday, 5 May, 2019. The food was all cold and not refilled. The Naan breed was finished and did not come for quite some time, when told the owner of the restaurant to get more Naan, he goes in a very rude way, "Sit for sometime, once ready we will bring." Naan came out after 15 mins, still uncooked and raw. The potato curry had uncooked huge chunks, which could not be cut, eaten. Pathetic experience with the rude and nasty owner. Don't know how can they survive in a service oriented business!
Pretty good Indian food. Definitely better than Tamarind. I used to always go for the lunch buffet, which was priced fairly and everything was always prepared well. I just found out recently that they no longer have a lunch buffet, just lunch specials for the menu items. The lunch specials are a good price, but the buffet was my main reason for going so that I could eat a little bit of everything. I would definitely still recommend going though.
Hello Folks, I order one goat biryani through phone and I went over there before they close at 3pm on 05/29/20. The door closed I called them one man answer it very very rude and finally he opened the door he was talking very rudely at me and said no food for me. Before: They food very bad smell. Samosa very bad smell and they don’t know how to cook the South Indian food. The biryani was literally terrible. The U.S govt must do the food inspections at this restaurant and they must close the restaurant before people get sick from that food. Pls Pls don’t order and don’t go this restaurant. Thq.
Typical run of the mill Indian restaurant... nothing stands out
Such a pathetic place. I had a dosa and the sambar was full of garam masala. Wonder who puts garam masala in sambar. On top of it the management is so rude. Such a bad place
Great Malai kofta, decent quantity, good breads. Rice was sort of dry and hard. But overall great food.
Food is always good. Price is right. Buffet is excellent. Could use some interior design upgrades. Staff always nice. 1x/mo for several years.
This is absolutely the best Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh, and I've tried them all! If you want to experience authentic Indian cuisine that is made with skill and care, look no further. All of Coriander's dishes are artfully spiced, distinct and delicious, unlike many other Indian restaurants in town, where the dishes all taste the same, and as if they are full of ketchup.
I have ordered from them on grub hub and postmates. Portions are very small For 12 dollars a dish. Spicy levels are not what you ask for a 1 is like a three. And three is like a five six. Done ordering from her
WOW!!!! I was tired of the usual places and same rotation of foods and decided to give this place a try. It’s now going to be added to my “go-to” list! I’m pescatarian and my husband is NOT so we spend more time trying to come to an agreement on dinner most nights. Tonight was no different and we were both soo pleased. Delivery was quick and came piping hot. I ordered a few things because I wasn’t sure what i’d like and I just said “wow” aloud after tasting each option.Everything was deliciously spot on!!
Great, authentic Indian cuisine! Our party of 4 all got different curries and Naan bread and sampled each. All were good - you can't go wrong with chicken tikka masala. The interior was charming blend of Indian decor and Pittsburgh pride. However, the service wasn't great despite it being not too busy while we were there. The prices can add up, but the food is worth it.
This is the third meal I have had at Coriander this winter. The quality of the food is good, but the management is erratic and arrogant.Twice I went in at lunchtime. They are supposed to be open from 11.30 to 3 PM for lunch. Buffet is supposed to be open until 2.30. But if you arrive at 2, they are already closing up and I was told to eat quickly, and no second helpings. On the same day, a man came in to have lunch about 2.30 but was told they were closing at 3 and would not serve him. The man said - 'If you don't serve me now, I will never come back!' The owner shrugged and showed him the door. Tonight I went in for dinner when they reopened at 5 PM. The young man behind the counter seemed surprised to find a customer, and was slow to take my order. No other customers arrived by the time I left - 6 PM. The entire atmosphere in Coriander is off-putting. I will never go back again. .
Really loved the thali style dinner . This was much needed! Perfect menu and food tastes awesome!
Great food, and quick service.
We went on a Sunday evening, and the service was incredibly slow. The food was tasty, but the portions were a tad small. However the spice level was insanely high. It was painful to eat, but what I could taste was great. I asked for the lowest spice level and it was still to spicy.
I have been here twice and the owner/server dissuaded me from getting the dish I ordered and wanted. And service was very slow. Food was good but probably won’t go back.
Wow! Just stopped by for a quick Sunday lunch and I'm so happy right now! I had the lunch buffet and the food was delicious. Yes, I probably ate more than what I should, but I just had to taste a little bit of everything. The place was nice and the staff friendly. I can't wait to come back for more.
I stopped in for the lunch buffet and I am absolutely blown away! It being a buffet and me being a glutton, I have to try a little bit of everything and figure out what I do and don't like. Well that doesn't work here. There was only what I like and what I like even more. Some of the foods are a little spicy but nothing I would call hotter than a 3/10. If you are sensitive to spicy food you're gonna be better off just asking because the color is not necessarily indicative as you might think. My only criticism is a lack of non-alcoholic non-soda(pop) options, but I am fond of water so no star loss. I would definitely recommend stopping through
We ordered a paneer butter masala. It had the color of somewhere between a dark red brick and crimson red. If you know some very basic cooking you know Paneer butter masala doesnt turn out that way unless you add some extreme food color. Tasted very bad. The naan we ordered was charred deep black. Dont go to this place.
Very good Indian food! Loved the lamb tandoori!
